Have your say
The Town of Oakville wants to hear your thoughts on a potential new by-law that would regulate protests near locations like places of worship, daycares, libraries, and hospitals. Council says the goal is to balance freedom of speech with anything that might impede access to these types of places. The town has hired a polling firm to reach out to residents, or you can also directly give your thoughts through an online questionnaire.

KEEP THE CHANGE
No more RRSP season
Remember when “RRSP season” was a thing? Well, not anymore. Advisors tell the Globe and Mail that there’s been a major shift towards investors using regular monthly deductions to take care of their annual retirement contributions, meaning the last minute February rush isn’t such a big deal anymore.
Condo cliff
Mortgage Professional America has an article on how pre-construction condo buyers in Toronto who bought a couple of years ago at the market’s peak are now seeing appraisals that are 10-30% below their purchase price. The drop in value is causing financing issues for several buyers who are choosing to walk away from their deposits and potentially face legal action by the developer.
HEALTHY START
Tried Mewing yet?
You might have seen mewing online. It’s a technique that involves keeping your tongue on the roof of your mouth that proponents say reshapes your face and gives you a stronger jaw line. Health.com looks into the technique and makes it clear that there’s hardly any scientific evidence that it actually works.
Ritz recall
Health Canada says Original Mini Ritz Crackers are being recalled because they might contain milk, which isn’t mentioned on the label. If you’ve got a milk allergy, avoid them.
