Lakeside Park Restaurant?
It was talked about during the last municipal election campaign, and now town council is looking into whether the Oakville Marine Search and Rescue building (the blue one with TOWARF written on it) could be the location of a new lakefront restaurant.
Festive R.I.D.E.
Halton Regional Police have kicked off their annual Festive R.I.D.E. Campaign against drunk and drug-impaired driving.
Things to do this weekend in Oakville
A few things festive to do this weekend. Here’s a list of things happening in downtown Oakville, including the Towne Square Silent Disco. There’s also the St. Jude’s Christmas Bazaar – Saturday from 9am-2pm, 160 William Street.
Toronto’s turn
Oakville’s Santa Claus Parade was last weekend, and Toronto gets it’s turn this Sunday. The One of a Kind show is also on at the Enercare Centre.

Payment services provider Moneris says spending in Toronto was up 57% week over week in the first three days of Taylor Swift’s tour. International spending doubled, with out of towners especially spending on movies and theatre while in town.

The city of Brampton has banned protests near places of worship. It comes after a protest outside a temple earlier this month became violent.

Tax break
The federal government has confirmed there’s going to be a two-month GST break on groceries, kids clothes, Christmas trees, and restaurant meals from December 15th to February 15th. In the new year, the government is also sending a $250 rebate cheque to anyone who made less than $150,000 this year.
